You can apply for WASLA’s membership all year round via this application form
WASLA Community aims to be a platform that encourages networking and communication among its members, more precisely young people and adults possessing any nationality who are living in Germany or who are German citizens.
- To be aged 18+
- To be motivated to join WASLA.
- To be a German citizen or to be living in Germany.
- To be active in the social, cultural and/ or political fields (preferable but not necessary).
- To be proficient in one of the working language of WASLA, English, German and/ or Arabic is essential. Knowledge of another language would also be considered as a strong asset.
- To have team spirit and ability to establish and maintain good relationships with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
- You have no connection with religious extremism, any form of racism, discrimination or hate speech.
WASLA is committed to achieving geographical representation from Germany and MENA countries, and gender equality within its staff.
Native German speakers are strongly encouraged to join WASLA community. In addition, applications from women are strongly encouraged for senior positions.
The membership decision will be taken by the board of directors every 3 months.
The full membership fee is 60 euro.
There is no membership fee for associate members, honoured members and volunteers.
The individuals who are accepted as full members should transfer the membership fee before the end of April of each year to the following bank account:

There are 3 types of memberships:
- Full active Member
- Associate Member
- Honored member
- A full active member has the right to attend the General Assembly, to vote and to be a member of the board of directors
- An associate member can participate to our projects and activities from time to time but doesn't have the right to attend the General Assembly or to vote
- An honored member can join international events from time to time but doesn't have the right to attend the General Assembly or to vote. WASLA selects honored members from Germany or other countries like, public figures, activists, culture managers by selection only via WASLA’s partners’ networks.
You will be informed via email. The membership decision will be taken by the board of directors every three months.
You can reapply again after one year. We kindly ask you to update the information regarding your location and motivation for joining WASLA community.
If you applied for the full membership type, you should pay the annual membership fee.
All members will receive a newsletter containing information about new opportunities via email.
If you want to cancel your membership, send your written confirmation via email to info@wasla.de
If you want to join one of the networks managed by WASLA, please fill in the application form of the network you are interested in. The application is available on the page of each network.
The application is ongoing and you can apply at anytime during the year.
No, you can’t. If there is no application form on the network page, it means WASLA is not the responsible organization of this network.
There are two types of networks’ memberships:
- Organizations or informal groups
- Individuals
Networks’ membership for organizations or informal groups:
EMYF German National Network:
- German Youth organization/ German young people informal group mainly working with young people for young people.
NAS:
- Arab communities organizations located in one of the 47 member states of the Council of Europe
Neworks’ membership for individuals
- ADYPE :
- Young people aged 18-35 with Arabic background
- Young people who are currently living in one of the 47 member states of the Council of Europe
- Team spirit with ability to establish and maintain good relationships with people of different national and cultural background
- Ability to show initiative and to work with minimal supervision
- Computer skills and ability to use relevant software applications and internet.
- Excellent research and drafting skills, when needed
- Proficiency in one of the working language of the Network, English, German and/ or Arabic is essential. Knowledge of another language would also be considered as a strong asset.
- NAS :
- Individuals aged 35+ with no age limit having an Arabic background
- Individuals currently living in one of the 47 member states of the Council of Europe
- Individuals who have made a positive impact in his/ her society, business, professional career, etc
- Individuals who are not representatives of any of the Arab communities organizations that is a registered member of NAS.

The membership decision will be taken by the Network’s steering committee meeting every 3 months.
In case you are invited for an interview, WASLA will arrange an online meeting between you and the Network’s steering committee.
All networks managed by WASLA are free of charge

Yes, WASLA can issue an experience letter or an attendance certificate, if the participants finished their participation successfully.

Individuals from Germany are eligible to apply to join our events.
There is the possibility to need participants from other countries. When so, we will launch a call looking for participants.

- Ability to display initiatives, and to work with minimal supervision
- Computer skills and ability to use relevant software applications, in particular information databases, internet, library sources, etc.
- Excellent research and drafting skills, when needed
- Proficiency in one of the working language of WASLA, English, German and/ or Arabic is essential. Knowledge of another language would also be considered as a strong asset.

Individuals from Germany are eligible to apply to join our projects. Sometimes, we need participants from other countries to join our projects and we will launch calls for participants, when needed.

Please, note that we will not reply to participation requests coming from participants living in other countries without a call for participants launched by WASLA for certain projects and activities.

Organizations, schools, universities, etc. located in Germany or any country around the world can apply to request speakers having an Arabic background.
The Program accepts applications of institutions, not individuals.
However, in case you have an Arabic background and you want to be a speaker on a voluntary base, please send your C.V, motivation letter and list of topics which you can speak about to info@wasla.de
We Are One Program is opened to German Political parties and institutions, as well as to German citizens aged 18+
Women in Action Program is opened only to Women with Arabic background who are living in Germany or who are living in one of the 47 member states of the Council of Europe
It offers support to Arab students who want to study in Germany or in one of the European countries.
It is mainly opened to Arab Diaspora writers and authors who are living in one of the 27 member states of the European Union
We also welcome applications coming from European writers, authors and artists who are interested in running activities, publishing or developing projects together with Arab writers, authors and artists in Diaspora or in MENA region.
We can guide you how to find a partner institution to organize workshops and, also, we can help you to find the perfect donor to implement your project.

We will send the contacts details of the speaker/s who will attend the event and all information regarding the logistics.
Interns
WASLA will send a monthly Newsletter via email listing all internship opportunities available to all registered interns. Then, interns will select the suitable internship for them from the list.
Interns will be invited for interview before starting the on-site or online internship and sign a learning agreement.
Also, at the end of the internship, interns will be asked to fill in a questionnaire to evaluate their internship and share their experience.
Political parties and institutions
We will send the contacts details of the selected intern/s, the C.Vs and facilitate a meeting between a representative of the Political party /institution and the selected intern/s, when required.
In case there are no available interns for a precise period, WASLA will launch a call among the registered interns and an external call for participation via social media channels as well.
WASLA will contact applicants and nominees via email to arrange an online meeting with the team responsible for this program.
WASLA will send an invitation via email to attend an informative session online to all registered users who filled in the application form on Edu-Adivising Center page.
There will be organized an orientation session twice per year by WASLA.

If the organization that decided to host an event wants to cancel their participation after the on-site location and all information was confirmed via email; the organization will have to cover any expenses spent by WASLA and/ or speaker in the preparation phase of the event, such as, travel ticket, hotel booking, traditional food and clothes, etc.
If an intern or a political institution wants to cancel the participation during an internship, an email should be sent to WASLA at least one week in advance presenting the reasons for canceling the participation to the program.
Also, the intern or the political institution can contact WASLA to solve any obstacles faced during the internship program.
If a participant wants to cancel her participation after signing the participation agreement, the participant will pay all costs related to any materials, books, etc. that mentioned her personal data or information.
